Neck Lift Surgery
A neck lift targets:
- Excess neck skin and fat that cause a “turkey wattle”
- Fatty deposits under the chin that create a “double chin”
- Sagging tissue along the jawline, also known as jowls
- Muscle banding in the neck
During neck lift surgery, the underlying structures of the neck and jawline are repositioned to create more youthful contours. Liposuction may be used to dramatically improve a double chin, if necessary. A neck lift can also get rid of vertical “bands” on the neck caused by stretched platysma muscles. These loose muscles are pulled tight and stitched together so they no longer hang and create bands in the neck. Once the desired contours are achieved, the skin is draped over the new structures, and excess tissue is removed.
Neck lift surgery can be performed as a stand-alone procedure for patients without much sagging in the upper face. For those who also have signs of aging in the cheeks, around the eyes or mouth, or in the forehead and brow area, neck lift surgery can be combined with another procedure. This will achieve more complete facial rejuvenation and ensure that the lower face and neck are in harmony with the rest of the face. During your consultation, Dr. Roussalis can determine the right procedure(s) to meet your unique needs.
Procedures commonly combined with neck lift surgery include:
